The La Porte City Administration and Finance Department is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of city affairs and the effective management of municipal finances.

City Clerk's Office: Appointed by the City Council, the City Clerk is entrusted with duties defined by the Code of Iowa and further designated by the City Council. These responsibilities include oversight and maintenance of all financial records and reporting for the City, preparation of City Council agendas, recording and maintaining all Council minutes, resolutions, and ordinances, and issuing various licenses and permits.
