The City of La Porte City is governed by a Mayor and a five-member City Council, with members elected to four-year staggered terms. Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at City Hall, 202 Main Street. Residents are welcome to address the Council at the start of each meeting, though the Council may only take action on items listed on the meeting agenda.
