Police

The La Porte City Police Department provides essential police protection services to the community, while also assisting neighboring agencies and supporting nuisance abatement enforcement and community relations efforts. The department oversees the Crossing Guard program at La Porte City Elementary School to help ensure student safety. Additionally, the La Porte City Police Association, a nonprofit organization within the department, uses fundraising proceeds to purchase equipment for its officers and support community programs such as Shop with a Cop and the End of Summer Sizzler event.
