Garbage is collected each Friday. Trash cans must be placed at the curb by 6:00AM on collection day. Containers must be removed from the curb promptly after pickup and are not to be stored at the curb. Containers should placed at least 4 ft away from other objects including buildings, vehicles and other containers. Large items and appliances cannot be placed with regular garbage. Residents should contact Black Hawk Waste at 319-232-4150 to schedule a pickup.
Recycling cans must be placed at the curb by 6:00AM on collection day. Recycling is collected every other Wednesday.
Yard Waste. The City’s yard waste drop off site is located on Brandon Road in the northeast part of the City. The site is open 7 days /week 7:00AM - 9:00PM
Acceptable Items: Yard waste, including grass clippings, brush, branches and garden debris, trees and tree trimmings. Do not place yard waste items in plastic bags for disposal. Only compostable bags and materials are allowed.
